Jumping the Broom is a new movie about two very different families converging on Martha’s Vineyard one weekend for a wedding. The title of the film refers to a ceremony tradition, in which the bride and groom, either at the ceremony or at the reception, signify their entrance into a new life and their creation of a new family by symbolically “sweeping away” their former single lives, former problems and concerns, and jumping over the broom to enter upon a new adventure as wife and husband.
We had the pleasure of being introduced to this tradition in September of 2009, during the wedding ceremony of Sharee and Leonard. After some digging through our archived videos, I finally found this sample. We filmed this wedding in a Philadelphia area town in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, at The Riverdale Manor. It was an amazing venue, and an even more amazing wedding! Enjoy the clip, and in you are thinking about including The Jumping of the Broom tradition into your wedding ceremony, pay close attention to it being done at the end of the video.

I found this awesome tweet by Pete Cashmore (follow him on twitter – @Mashable) showcasing the top 10 wedding dance videos on YouTube. The first thing I can say about all of the videos is that they are creative, super fun, and funny as heck! The second thing I have to mention is it looks as if none of the videos were filmed or edited by a professional. So while they may be poor quality, shaky, and amateurish… they are still hilarious to watch.

Well ladies, according to Pantone, which tracks colors in the fashion and home-décor industries, the color of 2010 is Turquoise. The company’s executive director says that the color is a obvious choice as it makes people think of being on vacation. So what do you think? Would you have a turquoise wedding?

Normally, we are busy displaying our Philadelphia Wedding Videos and New Jersey Wedding Videos for our clients, but today we have a personal video to showcase. We wanted to share with all our friends, family, and blog readers that we are so happy to have welcomed into the family our first child. Our daughter, Lilia Waverly Dietz, was born 3:52am on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2009. We couldn’t be more blessed, and want to thank all of the support we have had from everyone. Below we have posted some of our favorite photographs from the hospital, and below that, a short video of Lilia’s first days. If you like the pictures, you will adore the video. Nothing is more memorable than the sights, sounds, and emotions of an event, to be preserved into a memory… an heirloom. Thanks again to everyone, and enjoy!
